What if Paperman doesn't accept keyboard input?

Paperman’s windows respond to your mouse, but typing does nothing. Text fields like the App Exceptions search stay empty no matter what you press.

First, relaunch Paperman

Keyboard input should work without any extra setup. Quit Paperman completely, then open it again. That’s usually all it takes.

Still can’t type? Allow keyboard access

Recent versions of macOS are stricter about which apps can receive keyboard input. If a relaunch didn’t help, give Paperman access yourself:

1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring and switch on Paperman.
2. Go back to Privacy & Security, open Accessibility, and switch on Paperman there too.
3. Quit Paperman and open it again. macOS only applies these permissions after a relaunch.

If Paperman isn’t in either list, click the + button below the list and choose it from your Applications folder. Copies from Setapp are in the Setapp folder inside Applications.
