Paperman™ is built by DoublOne Studios. We believe your desktop is your private space. Our software is designed to run locally, without any data leaving your device.
We do not collect any personal data.
- No Usage Tracking: We do not track which apps you exclude or which textures you use.
- No Telemetry: We do not collect crash reports or performance metrics at all.
- No Analytics: We do not collect any analytics whatsoever.
Everything stays on your device.
All your settings, including your texture preferences, intensity levels, and app exclusion lists, are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your computer.
On macOS, Apple may independently collect crash reports as part of their platform. This is outside our control and governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Payments & licensing.
Windows
Paperman Unlimited licenses are sold and activated via Polar, our payment and licensing provider. During activation, Polar may associate your name and email address with your license key and customer ID. This data is held by Polar under their own privacy policy and is used solely to verify and manage your license.
A copy of your license key and customer ID is stored locally on your device for validation purposes. We do not store any of this information on our own servers.
macOS
If purchased through the Mac App Store, we do not collect any personal or non-personal data whatsoever; Apple handles the transaction under their own privacy policy.
If purchased directly via Polar, the same license activation data described for Windows applies. If purchased through Setapp, whether as a one-time license or as part of your subscription, your payment details are handled by Setapp under their own privacy policy.
