Is it really a one-time payment?
For most purchase paths, yes:
- Windows, Mac App Store, direct Mac download, or Setapp's one-time license: yes, pay $9.95 once and you own it forever, future updates on the same platform included
- Setapp subscription: Paperman is included for as long as you're subscribed, billed under your existing Setapp plan
What does "Automatic theme switching" mean?
Windows doesn't have a native option to automatically switch between light and dark mode based on time of day or ambient light. Paperman adds that. Free for all users.
On macOS too, Paperman seamlessly syncs its paper texture themes with your system's appearance.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If you purchased on Windows, or purchased directly for Mac (via the "Buy for Mac" button), and you're not happy within 14 days, email help@doubl.one for a full refund, no questions asked. If you purchased through the Mac App Store, please contact Apple directly for refunds, as Apple's terms and conditions apply. If you purchased through Setapp, refunds are handled by Setapp under their standard policy.
Why isn't there a free version for Mac?
At the moment, our free tier is exclusive to Windows. However you buy for Mac, it's equivalent to Paperman Unlimited and grants full, unlimited access:
- Mac App Store: one-time purchase
- Direct download via Polar: one-time purchase
- Setapp: a one-time license, or included with your subscription. New subscribers get a 7 day free trial
How many Macs can I install this on?
It depends on where you bought it:
- Mac App Store: tied to your Apple ID, so install on as many Macs as you like
- Direct download via Polar: 2 devices at a time, same as Windows. Manage devices from your Polar customer portal
- Setapp: a one-time license covers as many Macs as you need, same as the Mac App Store; subscription access follows your Setapp plan instead
What if I want to use Paperman on more than 2 PCs?
One license covers 2 devices at a time. If you just replaced an old PC, that's free: log into your Polar customer portal, remove the old device, and activate your license key on the new one. If you actually need 3 or more devices running at once, you'll need an additional license, or get in touch with us for volume licensing if it's for a larger number of machines.
Does Paperman work on full screen mode?
Yes, Paperman covers your entire screen. The one exception: if you bought it from the Mac App Store, it turns off while an app like Safari is in full screen mode, due to Apple's sandbox restrictions.
