Find Paperman in the menu bar or taskbar
Paperman doesn’t use a regular app window. You’ll find it as a small icon in your menu bar, at the top right of the screenin the corner of your taskbar, next to the clock.
Open the controls or the menu
- Click the icon to open the control center. From there you can turn Paperman on or off, snooze it, and switch textures.
- Right-click or Control-clickRight-click the icon to open the menu. It has shortcuts like Snooze, Disable for Current App and Quit Paperman.
If you open Paperman again while it’s already running, it brings the existing window to the front instead of starting a second copy.
Check for updates
If you downloaded Paperman from our website, choose Check for Updates from the menu, or open Settings → About and click Check for updates.
If you got Paperman from the Mac App Store or Setapp, there’s no Check for Updates item. Those versions update through the App Store or Setapp.
Can’t see the icon?
On Windows 11, Paperman keeps its icon in the taskbar corner by default, so it doesn’t end up in the hidden icons area behind the ^ arrow. If it’s hidden, open Settings → Protection and switch on Show icon in taskbar corner.
